Philip Nelson, VP Marine Division of Alterra Insurance and President of the Association of Marine Underwriters of San Francisco presents a $5,000 check for student scholarships to President Eisenhardt on behalf of the Association.

The organization began funding student scholarships in 2003 and today ranks as one of the major corporate donors to the cause.  Association President Philip Nelson said, “We are pleased continue our support of Cal Maritime and its mission of preparing young men and women for careers in the maritime and transportation industries.  This is at least the 8th consecutive year that AMUSF has donated to the Academy.  It is also worth noting that that there were at least ten Cal Maritime graduates attending the dinner who currently work in the marine insurance community.
